Back in first-year engineering school, I competed in a hackathon whose theme was AI in healthcare. I created with two other engineers an AI able to detect skin cancers. Image classification and detection (In PyTorch then TensorFlow) are the basics of AI. Apart from the technical part, we delivered a complete web app (written in Django first, then Flask). We also started marketing our product targetting dermatologists.
A year later, we ended up holding a conference in front of the french dermatologist syndicate. We won the Davinci startup contest, which created a partnership with Moovjee, the most significant young entrepreneur incubator in France, and Pepite-pon, home of young entrepreneurs with protected status.
This project also suffered defeats with a missed partnership with The Family, One of the most robust networks of business angels. Finally, this project came to an end, with our team coming apart due to our studies' follow-up.
